The Daily Mail have revealed that the developments of the last week have ‘raised optimism’ at Tottenham that Julian Nagelsmann is ‘attainable’.
Since Nagelsmann pulled out of the race for the Chelsea hot seat, multiple publications have suggested that Tottenham are expected to try their hardest to attract the German, who is thought to be making clear demands, including having a final say on transfers (Telegraph and Independent).

However, Football Insider’s update on Wednesday quashed the enthusiasm and excitement of some Spurs fans by suggesting that the North London club’s hierarchy are not hopeful that the German would accept the job.
The publication explained that some at Tottenham are concerned that Nagelsman might be using the club’s interest as leverage to pursue other jobs.
The Mail have now provided a positive update on Spurs’ pursuit of Nagelsmann by stating the Lilywhites are optimistic that they may be able to appoint the 35-year-old since Chelsea are no longer in the running.
The report explains that senior figures at Tottenham initially feared that Nagelsmann preferred the job at Stamford Bridge but they are now said to be ‘redoubling their efforts’ to appoint the former Bayern Munich boss.

It seems like, for the moment, all eggs are in the Nagelsmann basked for Tottenham. I worry that we do not have an effective enough contingency plan if the appointment does not work out.
I do not think it would be well received among the fan base if we end up with someone like Arne Slot, having allowed Pochettino to go to Chelsea.
