Net spend is a chimera. Easy to make back £100m in transfers if you spent £200m on them five years ago.

Go tell that to Man Utd with Paul Pogba.

I never really trust the internet but I'm sure I read somewhere that Chelsea's net spend this season is roughly the same as Man City under Guardiola and that Man Utd's net spend since Guardiola joined Man City has been higher.

Of Course Man City have loads of money but so do all the other teams up there. Spending it well and then training those players to be even better is what sets them apart from the all the rest.
