The Indian smartphone market saw shipments declining 16% on-year in the first quarter, with 31 million smartphones shipped, according to IDC India's preliminary numbers. It is the lowest first-quarter shipment in four years, the report said. IDC India said the shipments declined as inventory levels were elevated because of high stocking in the second half of 2022, even as consumer demand remained sluggish amid uncertain macroeconomic conditions.
