The Indian Army has changed its standard operating procedure for vehicle movement and has temporarily stopped ration supply to remote border villages due to increased militant activity. The changes come after the terrorist attack last month where militants attacked vehicles carrying rations, killing five soldiers. The People Anti-Fascist Front, backed by Jaish-e-Mohammed, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The revised measures involve additional checks in terrorist-prone areas, clearance from road opening parties and posting military police at intervals along the highway. Ration distribution is currently under review due to the unavailability of supplies.
