Morgan Wallen Gives Health Update Amid Return to the Stage Following Controversial Concert Cancellation

Morgan Wallen is back on tour after taking more than a week off due to “doctor-ordered vocal rest.”

The 29-year-old country singer caused a lot of controversy when he canceled his April 23 concert in Mississippi just minutes before he was supposed to go on stage.

All three of Morgan‘s opening acts had performed and fans had been waiting inside the venue for three hours for the main act to appear on stage. A message appeared on the stadium’s screens saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight. Therefore, tonight’s show has been canceled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight’s event will be available at point of purchase.”

Fans were rightfully upset about spending money on a night out and waiting hours for Morgan to appear on stage, but rumors started swirling about what led to the cancellation, including allegations that he partied too hard the night before.

Now, Morgan is sharing a health update as he prepares to continue the tour.

Morgan shared a video on his Instagram Story ahead of his show in Florida on Thursday (May 4).

“What’s up, everybody? I just wanted to let you know I am in Jacksonville, we are going to play a show tonight — and all weekend. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% but I’m doing a lot better,” he said.

Morgan continued, “And to everyone in Oxford, I just wanted to reiterate how sorry I am for the way that went down. I thought I was going to be good to go and I just wasn’t. We’re working on a rescheduled date — we are close to having a rescheduled date, I just don’t have the exact one yet. So as soon as I do, I’ll let you know. I appreciate you all and I can’t wait to get out onstage tonight. Love you all, thanks for all the support always. God bless you — see you soon.”
