House president, foreign minister sign book of condolences at Serbian embassy

House President Annita Demetriou on Friday signed the book of condolences at the Serbian embassy in Nicosia after a 13-year old boy shot dead nine people and wounded seven at a school in Belgrade on Wednesday before turning himself in.

Demetriou expressed “shock for the murderous attack on a school in Belgrade, which claimed the lives of innocent children, as well as for the violent armed attack that followed in a suburb of the Serbian capital.

In a statement released by parliament, Demetriou also offered her condolences, on behalf of all MPs, to the families of the victims and to all people in Serbia.

Earlier on Friday, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos also signed the book of condolences at the Serbian embassy in Nicosia.
