Iconic sweets brand is making a major change for the Coronation – but you’ll have to be quick

SWEET-TOOTHED shoppers may notice an iconic sweets brand has made a major change to its packaging – but you’ll need to be quick.

Love Hearts, which are made by sweet manufacturer Swizzles, have undergone a huge makeover to mark the King’s Coronation.

Love Hearts have been given a makeover to make the King’s Coronation

The sweets are known for having romantic phrases written on them, including “kiss me” and “true love”.

But 200,000 sweets have been made with the words “King”, “Charles” and “Congrats” emblazoned on them to mark the royal occasion.

Swizzles is selling the Coronation sweets on its website for £5.99 as a gift box, which includes five packets of Love Hearts and a commemorative token.

The commemorative sweets are much pricier than the usual offering, which cost 25p at both Tesco and Asda.

You will also need to factor in the extra cost for postage, which is £3.12.

But if you’re a royal fan and don’t mind forking out for the special edition sweets, you’ll need to act quickly.

The Coronation Love Hearts are only available for a limited time and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Coronation confectionary

Love Hearts aren’t the only confectionary undergoing a makeover to mark the Coronation of King Charles II this weekend.

M&S has released a royal themed Colin the Caterpillar cake complete with an edible crown.

The Coronation cake costs £10 in store and £8.50 on the Ocado website, although it’s currently out of stock online.

Asda has dressed up its Letty cake in Coronation decorations, also with a crown – it costs £7.

Sainsbury’s has done up its Wiggles Caterpillar cake with street party themed bunting decorations and its royal head piece. It will cost you £8.

While Waitrose has brought out its own Jewel the Jack Russell cake, complete with a doggy face for £9.25.

Meanwhile, we reveal the full list of shops, pubs and restaurants that will be open on the Coronation Bank Holiday Monday.

Plus, we tested supermarket Coronation strawberry trifles from Lidl, Asda and Tesco and we were shocked by how cheap the winner was.
