The team, which was founded only last year, will compete with Claude Bovet and David McDonald and a brand-new Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.
It is aiming to appear at additional rounds later in the season.
“I only began racing last season but things went very well in BEC so when the time came to look at other options British GT was top of the list,” said Bovet. “We considered lodging a full-season entry but decided that a toe-in-the-water exercise would be a better route to ultimately being competitive against the country’s best Am drivers. This is just the start for us.
“I’m also excited to be racing the Aston Martin. It’s not so different to the Mercedes-AMG – front engine, V8. We felt this was a great opportunity to begin a close relationship with a British manufacturer, as well as one that’s based just 30 minutes from our workshop.”
Iron Lynx Super Trofeo line-up
Iron Lynx has shown off its stunning eight-car fleet for the upcoming Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and Asia seasons.
This year marks a return for Iron Lynx to Super Trofeo, a series which yielded huge success for the team during its first year of competition. Iron Lynx became Vice World Champions and Vice European Champions in the Pro-Am category in 2018.
Iron Lynx’s full-season commitment comes off the back of a successful wildcard outing for Iron Dames in November 2022.
“We can’t wait to head back to where it all began for Iron Lynx. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe was the first championship we competed in back in 2018 and then we had our most recent entry at the Grand Finals with Iron Dames. We have nice memories of this series and we are proud to be making our return with so many Iron Lynx cars.”
Liqui Moly to step away from Bathurst 12 Hour sponsorship
Longstanding naming-rights partner of the Bathurst 12 Hour, Liqui Moly, has not renewed its partnership with the IGTC event for 2024 and will shift its focus to other forms of Australian motorsport.
In a strategic move for the brand, Liqui Moly will become the Official Oil and Lubricant Partner of the 2023 Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight and Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, and will hold that title for three race events in the 2024 and 2025 Repco Supercars Championship seasons.
Liqui Moly first sponsored the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2013 and remained a partner for a decade.
The 12 Hour event organisers have confirmed that “discussions are well underway for a replacement title sponsor of the event, which shifts to a new date of 16-18 February next year.”
GT Open Shows Record GT3 Entry
As with several of the other major series, the International GT Open assembled their full season grid for a family photo at Portimao last weekend.
The 33-car entry – of which 31 are full-season cars – is the largest in the Series’ history since it moved to an all-GT3 format in 2015.
