There is an added complication of the definition of leisure. Cooking and eating a meal at home can be a chore. Or, it could be an abiding form of leisure activity. Finally, there is the matter of double-counting. Helping the neighbouring subsistence farmer with his harvest is treated as non-market activity. However, the owner's labour on his farm is a component of current GDP statistics.
