New Britain man pleads no contest to multiple sex charges involving children
A New Britain man has pleaded no contest to a number of sex charges involving multiple children.
Nassir Alsubai, 38, took a plea deal Thursday in New Britain Superior Court, where he pleaded no contest to four counts of illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16 and one count of risk of injury to a minor, according to judicial records.
The Alsubai is free on a $524,000 bond and has not yet faced sentencing. He is due back in court on Aug. 8.
In exchange for the no-contest pleas, numerous other charges against Alsubai are expected to be dropped, including those of first- and fourth-degree sexual assault as well as additional illegal sexual contact charges. In total, he has five cases pending in which he faces sex charges involving multiple victims.
Alsubai was first arrested by New Britain police in June 2018 and again in August of that year on a slew of sexual assault and related charges.
Following his arrest in August 2018, New Britain police said some of the allegations, including those stemming from the first-degree sexual assault charges, involved a 7-year-old girl who was known to Alsubai. Police said they began investigating that complaint in June 2018.
Other allegations against Alsubai involve him inappropriately touching an 8-year-old who was known to him, New Britain police said.
Alsubai was arrested by New Britain police again in September 2021 and charged with four counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault involving a victim under 13 and illegal sexual contact, according to judicial records.
Court records indicate the allegations against Alsubai took place over multiple years between 2003 and 2017.
