Man Utd in talks with entourage of 27-goal star, want to take him to England - report
Manchester United have been in regular contact with the entourage of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and are ready to make a fresh approach this summer, Corriere della Sera (page 47) claim.
The Nigerian has had a fantastic campaign with the Serie A outfit and he recently guided them to a third top-flight title with an equaliser at Udinese.
He has registered 27 goals and five assists from 34 games this term, and the Red Devils are eager to ‘take him to England’ in the next transfer window.
According to Corriere della Sera, Napoli will propose to extend Osimhen’s contract (June 2025) by another year. If unsuccessful, they are likely to consider his sale.
Bayern Munich have already been put off by the €150 million valuation, but it is claimed that United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are among the clubs that would pay the sum.
The Italian publication adds that the Red Devils could be the front-runners to land the former Lille striker, having been in contact with his entourage for ‘at least a year’.
Osimhen would be a perfect striker signing
Osimhen has been hampered by untimely injuries during his Napoli career but when fit and available, he is one of the most potent strikers with a superb scoring record.
This season, he has found the back of the net every 98 minutes. The Nigerian should only get better in the prime of his career and he would be a perfect signing for United.
Osimhen has brilliant vision when it comes to finding space in the box. He has netted goals with either foot and has also scored with several headed attempts.
The ex-Lille striker has also caught the eye with his work rate off the ball. He likes to drop into deeper positions and has won an impressive 4.4 duels per outing.
Osimhen still needs to work on winning more ground challenges, but a manager of Erik ten Hag’s calibre should get the best out of him if he were to join United.
