There's a Surprisingly Sensible Reason Nick Jonas Makes a Cameo in Priyanka Chopra's New Movie 'Love Again'

Nick Jonas makes a cameo in Priyanka Chopra‘s new movie Love Again, and she is now explaining the simple reason why he got involved.

In the movie, the 40-year-old actress plays a character who is dipping her toes back in the dating pool after losing someone she loved dearly. Before she gives co-star Sam Heughan a chance, Priyanka experiences a very unfortunate date with Nick.

There was one component of the script that made him the logical choice for the part.

In an interview with EW, Priyanka explained that her date was supposed to lick her face. The timing made that prospect difficult to coordinate with other actors.

“They were going to cast a random actor who would’ve eventually had to lick my face during COVID, which meant that he had to quarantine for 14 days and sit in a hotel room just waiting to lick my face. It was just awful,” she said.

Luckily, Nick was already with her!

“Nick came to help me settle in, and our director Jim [Strouse] had the bright idea. He was like, ‘Do you think Nick would consider this?’ And I was like, ‘Yes. Yes, please!’” she recalled. “So Nick took one for the team and was extremely gracious and lovely. He turned out to be so funny. It was so hard for me to act like I was embarrassed or mad at him, because I just couldn’t stop laughing.”

Priyanka added that the couple had a great time shooting their not-so-great date. “There was one time where Nick said something or did something, and we were inside the taxi, and the crew outside laughed out loud that we had to do another take.”
