I live full-time in a static caravan, I only paid £150 for it and now it’s been our home for a year, I love it
FORGET expensive house deposits and mortgages, a woman revealed she spent £150 on a static caravan and decided to spruce it up.
TikTok user Hannah Bullivant, who posts under @hanbullivanthome, uploaded a video sharing how they had transformed it in one year.
She wrote: “1 year in our static caravan.
“We bought it for £150 in January 2021.
“The total cost of the van and transport was £150 because the static was a wreck- the guy we bought it from was keen to be rid of it!
“This is where we got to by January 2022.”
When she first bought the caravan in Kent, it looked very tired and needed a lot of TLC.
They first stripped everything out, and then rebuilt the floor and walls so they’d be in a good condition.
Next they decorated the walls with wallpaper, panelling or tiles to make the inside look more stylish.
They also made a beautiful bathroom, added a sofa, cushions, plants and a log burner to the lounge, and gave it a new kitchen.
Hannah was savvy with her decorating, and added: “Love the tiles – found them free on FB marketplace!”
They even added wood to the outside of the static home to give it a lodge feel.
The finished result looked stunning and world’s apart from the beginning look.
Thankfully, they didn’t need to buy the land.
Hannah explained: “We live with our friends- this is in their land.
“Total costs are around 20k but not done final calculations yet.”
Hannah said the static home has enabled them to live rent-free for a year.
Many people were hugely impressed with the DIY project, with one saying: “Oh my lord.. this is my dream.”
Another added: “Wow how cool love it.”
And a third commented: “This is by far the best static caravan I’ve come across. You’ve done so well. Amazing!”
