Division One
Round 7 (last) – 10am

Dundee City A (2094) 3 – 2 (2031) Edinburgh 1
Congratulations to Dundee City A for being crowned the SNCL division one champions 2022-23, and winning back to back titles! They beat their arch rivals, Bon Accord by 1 point!

Dundee City A team Captain David Findlay picking up the trophy!

Dundee City A have had one hell of a week after their outstanding campaign in the online 4NCL, in which they won the division one title on Tuesday 2nd May 23, the first Scottish club to do so! Phenomenal!

Division Two
Round 7 (last) – 10am

Dundee City B (1776) 4½ – ½ (1621) East Kilbride
A convincing victory for Dundee City B in their last round match, to finish in 3rd place on 8 pts!  The score-line does not really reflect the hard game the East Kilbride players gave them. Well played lads!

Division Three
Round 7 (last) – 10am

Dundee City C  4½ – ½  Hamilton B
A bit disappointing for our players as Hamilton B only turned up with one player! Mind you what a player in, Thor “the Hammer” Saemundsson! Still a win however you get it is a win! This left Dundee City C in 5th place on 5 points. It was a tough campaign, but well played everyone!

Dundee City D  2½ – 2½  Lenzie Dementors
Playing a team full of juniors is a frightening prospect these days and this match was no exception! What a talented team of juniors Lenzie Dementors are and I think Dundee City D did well in getting the draw! Indeed, that’s all Dundee City C team managed against them so fair do`s! The result meant Dundee City D team finished bottom of the division and along with Lenzie Dementors are relegated to division 4 if the format stays the same in 2023-24!

It was a really hard division and we have a lot of new players in this team who would have gained a lot of experience playing in this event and that is what it’s all about!

Well that ends the SNCL for 2022-23. Next season (2023-24), instead of  8 team divisions, we will have 10 teams in the divisions, 9 rounds, over 5 Sundays (Oct 23, Nov 23, Feb 24, Mar 24, Apr 24), dates to be confirmed later!

Thank you to the organisers of the SNCL, and their many helpers for getting this event back on the calendar after the pandemic! There is an enormous amount of work and time involved and we at Dundee City thank you for all your efforts!

But of course for us, it’s you the Dundee City players that deserve a humongous thank you for putting yourself forward and giving up your Sunday time to play for Dundee City! Proud to know everyone of you and I am sure the SNCL Dundee City overall captain/organiser, Alastair Dawson would agree with me and thank you for everything you have done for us in campaign 2022-23!
