Syracuse transfer Joe Girard III has committed to Clemson, he announced Sunday.

The 6-foot-1 prolific scorer averaged 16.4 points per game for the Orange last season on 40.3-percent shooting.

“I’m going to Clemson because I feel most comfortable with the staff and team,” Girard told ZAGSBLOG. “They did a great job during the recruitment process with me. I also think they have a really good team that I want to be a part of and make a run in March with.”

“I’m going to bring leadership and a competitiveness that will hopefully help the team win a lot of games,” he continued. “I look forward to learning from a great defensive minded coach and showing I can compete on that end as well. I’m someone who loves to win and can’t wait to do a lot of that.”

Girard is the fourth player to transfer to Clemson this offseason, joining former N.C. State wing Jack Clark, UNCG forward Bas Leyte, and Air Force guard Jake Heidbreder.

The Tigers will also bring in three-stars RJ Godfrey, Dillon Hunter, Chauncey Wiggins, and Chauncey Gibson, in their class of 2023.
