Tech giants, including Google and Amazon, are protesting against calls to pay the cost of rolling out India's 5G networks. The telcos argue that content providers benefit considerably from network traffic but contribute little to network infrastructure costs. The move prompted representatives from the Broadband India Forum to write to India's telecom secretary, stating OTT content providers had no role in planning the network infrastructure.
