Cycling star Gleb Syritsa strips naked to show off horror injuries as fans hail ‘different breed’
CYCLING star Gleb Syrista has stripped naked to show off his horror injuries after a high-speed crash.
The Russian was competing in the Four Days of Dunkirk event.
The opening stage was marred by several crashes and Syrista was the victim of one.
He came off his bike towards the end of the 196.6km route and sustained many nasty-looking injuries.
However, he managed to get back up and finish the stage alongside team-mates Cees Bol, who also crashed, and Yuriy Natarov.
The trio of riders for the Astana Qazaqstan Team came joint 123rd, only just behind the main peleton.
After the race, Syrista stripped down to show fans the full extent of his injuries.
He had blood on his arm, a nasty graze on his leg and back and a huge sore on his shoulder.
The 23-year-old even smiled at the camera as he showed off his toughness.
Fans could not believe that Syrista carried on the stage in such a condition, one said: “Road racers are a different breed to us mere mortals.”

Another reacted: “Cyclist, the toughest sportsmen on the planet.”
A third added: “Smiling in pain, I admire his strength, I really hope he’s healed of the scars.”
The Four Days of Dunkirk continues with the final stage of six taking place this Sunday.
