Special Grants

The EDGE grants, specifically tailored for companies less than seven years old with a maximum of 10 employees, have been crucial in fueling Delaware’s small business growth. Under this scheme, five STEM-based businesses can receive up to $100,000, and five Entrepreneur Class (non-STEM) businesses can secure up to $50,000, provided they match the DSB’s investment on a 3-to-1 basis. The grants serve as a significant capital injection that can be used to bolster marketing campaigns, purchase essential equipment, and ultimately enhance the companies’ long-term success potential.

Since its inception in 2019, the EDGE program has facilitated the growth of a diverse range of businesses, from renewable energy technology firms to fitness centers and restaurants, by granting over $4.3 million to 70 promising small businesses.
