I upcycled a bog-standard B&M chair with something LOADS of people give away free on Facebook Marketplace
A DIY enthusiast has shared how she turned her bog-standard B&M chair into a stunning garden feature for both kids and adults.
With the warmer months fast approaching, people up and down the country are looking into ways to spruce up their gardens.
But the cost of living crisis isn’t easy on anyone, and it’s not always cost-effective to splash out on a brand new swing set.
So one woman, Nina Hinks, took matters into her own two hands.
Getting a swing for nearly free on Facebook Marketplace, the woman built the garden feature of her dreams.
“My project – I got the swing second hand [for] £3 and got the chair from B&M last year in [the] sale,” she told people in the Facebook group DIY Gardening on A Budget Official.
Nina added: “Bit of spray paint and transformed it,” followed by a heart emoji.
In the before photo, viewers could see a green and blue-coloured swing set.
But the next showed how she’d ripped the swing off and replaced it with the base of the chair from B&M before spray painting it all matte black.
People were left in total awe of the finished product and took to the comments to share their thoughts and ask questions.
“Right I’m looking for a cheap swing on marketplace, what a fab idea,” one person wrote with a crying with laughter emoji.
Nina replied: “That’s where I got mine from”.
Another said: “Oooo I like this can someone explain how you’ve done it xx,” and Nina gladly responded.
She said: “They sell the chairs in b&m, then brought cheap second hand swing, sprayed it black and changed the seat over.”
“Really easy to do,” she added.
When asked how she fixed the seat on, Nina said she used the same screws that could be seen on the swins.
“Wow! That’s awesome,” another shared, while a fourth added: “Looks fantastic nicely done”.
