Russia and Iran have signed a MoU to build a rail link that will boost INSTC enabling to expand burgeoning India-Russia trade. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed an agreement via video link to finalize the construction of the Rasht (Iranian city on Caspian Sea)-Astara (Azerbaijan) railway, which is expected to boost the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) that would further boost India’s trade with Russia. The new rail link will smoothen movement of goods via INSTC.
