I transformed my council house patio on the cheap – I have a home-brew weed killer, it keeps them at bay for two years
NOW the brighter evenings are here, we are all enjoying a bit more time outside.
And if you’re lucky enough to have a garden, you may be thinking it’s in need of some TLC after the rough winter that has just passed.
Luckily, DIY fans are taking to social media to share their top tricks to get your garden in tip top shape for cheap.
Jodie Oates, who goes by the name of official_jodiee on TikTok and has over 481k followers, has uploaded a video with her savvy hacks to help transform your garden.
She revealed her home-brew weed killer, which is perfect for getting rid of those annoying grassy bits between the concrete slabs in your garden.
In the video she films herself making the weed killing remedy.
Jodie mixes salt, a bit of washing up liquid, and some vinegar – you can use white vinegar or apple cider.
Pointing the camera to the patio, she says: “You see these little weeds here, bearing in mind I am in a council estate.
“There’s plenty of that around here, but these are the only ones that have come through for nearly two years because it works wonders.”
Jodie then finishes off the garden by painting the concrete slabs next to her fence in white, as touching up her door with slate grey paint by Universal – a paint and primer in one.
She says: “These doors were done about three years ago, so it does last and you can use it on any surface with this paint.”
Finally, she washes the concrete slabs – which form her patio – down with a broom and hose.
Jodie also plans to add a new furniture set, and plants to complete her garden.
The video has gained over 47k likes, with hundreds rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
