The elderly victim, in her 90s, was tragically discovered at her home in Greville Court, Benhall, Gloucestershire.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 11.40am on Monday, May 8, after reports the OAP was found unconscious.
She sadly died the following day.
Cops said her death is being treated as “unexplained and not suspicious” as they work with the area coroner to establish a cause.
Gloucestershire Police said: “Officers from the Constabulary’s Criminal Investigation Department are asking anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 3pm on Saturday, May 6 (Coronation Day) when the woman was last seen by relatives, and 11.40pm on Monday, May 8 to make contact.
“Initial enquiries have indicated that a man was seen to be acting suspiciously in the area between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday, May 7.
“He was wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket and a light hooded top underneath.
“Officers would like to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage who lives nearby or was travelling past the A40 Gloucester Road near to the Esso Red Apple Service Station between these times.”
