Two people taken to hospital after suffering burns during Hartford house fire
Two people suffered burns and were taken to the hospital following a fire at a multi-family home in Hartford on Friday that displaced six people.
Firefighters responded to a home at 237 Flatbush Ave. in the city’s Behind the Rocks neighborhood on Friday morning on the report of a structure fire, according to the Hartford Fire Department. Firefighters discovered heavy fire in the front living room area and a bedroom.
The fire was put out quickly, according to firefighters.
A woman and a man who each suffered burns were taken to an area hospital, according to fire officials. No firefighters were injured.
Six people — all adults — were displaced as a result of the blaze. The Hartford Fire Department’s Special Services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to assist the two families affected.
The local fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
