Max Verstappen takes pole for the Monaco Grand Prix, partnering Fernando Alonso on the front row

Fernando Alonso looked set to take his first pole in 174 races but the world champion pulled it out the bag in the third sector of his final lap to secure top spot for the first time in his career.
