The Centre will bring in new 'lighter' regulations for deemed to be universities in June, also making way for a new category of degree-granting institutions called 'Distinct Institutions' that may be dedicated to a unique discipline ranging from strategic studies to Indian cultural heritage, environment or sports among others.
