ER doctor mysteriously disappeared after texting fiancé
'This is very unusual for him. This is a punctual man who has never missed a day of work in his life.'
A family in Missouri is searching for answers after an emergency room doctor and father of seven mysteriously disappeared last week.
Dr John Forsyth, a 49-year-old ER doctor from the Ozark Mountains, was reported missing after he failed to show up for his evening shift on Sunday, May 21.
He has worked in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital in Cassville for the last 15 years. Forsyth was last seen around 7.00am that same Sunday morning as he finished up his shift from the night before.
His family and coworkers didn’t sound the alarm until he failed to show up for his next shift.
‘This is very unusual for him. This is a punctual man who has never missed a day of work in his life,’ his brother Richard Forsyth told KOLR 10.
Eventually, Forsyth’s black Infiniti was found in a parking lot of the Cassville Aquatic Center, just about a mile from his workplace.
His car doors were left unlocked, and his keys and wallet were left in the vehicle, his family said.
They also found his RV, which he stays in while working long shifts at the hospital, unlocked. His cell phone was left inside.
Forsyth’s brother later told the Daily Beast that investigators found texts to his fiancé on the phones, shortly after his shift ended at 7.00am.
His fiancé, who has not been named, has not made any public statements about the mysterious disappearance.
Forsyth’s family has since created a Facebook page to share news and coordinate help.
‘My brother is missing. If anyone knows anything, please contact us. I’m so worried, I’m a mess. That’s all I can say right now,’ his sister Tiffany wrote in a post on the group.
