BBC BREAKFAST host Naga Munchetty was missing from her regular slot on the iconic morning show sofa this morning.

The 48-year-old, who usually co-hosts with Charlie Stayt at the end of the week, Thursday to Saturday, was absent from the show (June 1) with Nina Warhurst in her place.

The broadcaster has recently revealed her ongoing health battle that sees her in almost constant pain.

Opening up on her Radio 5 Live show on Tuesday (May 30) the presenter spoke candidly about the womb condition she suffers from, adenomyosis.

During her on-air segment, she said that as she sat there talking to listeners, she was in pain, “constant, nagging pain”.

She added: “Every so often the pain changes; it becomes a stabbing pain. A pain that takes my breath away and I can do nothing but sit with it for a minute or curl up to cope.”

She hosts her Radio 5 show Monday through Wednesday, ending her week on BBC Breakfast.

Naga has also since posted snapshots about her and the condition on her social media.

The broadcaster’s openness on the condition has prompted many sufferers to come forward with their stories. Sharing a clip of her Radio 5 show on her Instagram account encouraged many social media app users to speak up.

One follower said: “So so brave talking about these symptoms in public but so incredibly important to share the knowledge and help women understand themselves.”

Another added: “Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this conversation. We need to do better. It is only by talking about this we can push for more funding and research to be done so women don’t have to continue suffering.”

“I also have this. Recently had an operation that relieved things a bit, but feel your pain and sending love,” a third said.

Naga also missed an episode last week with BBC  journalist Tina Daheley joining Charlie on the sofa and revealed that she had to call an ambulance due to the unmanageable pain.
