In response to a recent letter to the editor regarding the debt ceiling crisis, I am relieved that there is a potential to avert a default on our payments. However, I am deeply concerned about the proposals that would impose the burden on ordinary citizens who are honest, hard-working Americans simply striving to make ends meet.
