At a time when drug addiction poses a major challenge for Punjab, there is an increase in the number of female addicts seeking treatment at Ludhiana city’s main government drug de-addiction centre. According to the data of Navjeevan Kendra (de-addiction centre) at the Ludhiana civil hospital, the number of new female addicts registered (who get de-addiction medicine at the centre) in 2018 was just 26 which increased to 49 in 2022.
