Wesley lose opening tour match in South Africa

Tour Match – Maties, Stellenbosch 41 Old Wesley 33

Old Wesley kicked off their tour to South Africa with a narrow loss to Maties at Coetzenburg in Stellenbosch.

The sides were level 12 all at half times after tries by David Poff and Harry Noonan.  Early second half tries by Finn Tierney and Robert Loftus gave Wesley a healthy lead. However it was the local side who proved to have the extra stamina going on to win in an entertaining match. Andrew Vincent also made the Wesley scoresheet with a try.
