Smoke from hundreds of Canadian wildfires continued to cast haze over populous parts of the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for a second straight day, with forecasters warning people to limit time outside. In New York, the unhealthy level surpassed those of some of the most polluted cities on Earth.
