The opening weekend of an event-packed, pedestrian-friendly Italian Week will bring live music, dancers, comedians, a cannoli-eating contest and more to the stage at 301 Preston St. on Friday night and through Saturday and Sunday. Ferraris and other Italian cars will parade in Little Italy on Saturday afternoon. And then next week, there will be masterclasses on Italian cheese (Monday at 7 p.m.) and on olive oil and balsamic vinegar (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) at the Sala San Marco Event and Conference Centre (215 Preston St.). More information on Italian Week, which runs from June 8 to 18, can be found at italianweekottawa.ca.
