Bettor places $27,600 on Brooks Koepka losing the 2023 U.S. Open
As the 2023 U.S. Open kicks off on Thursday, one bettor really does not think that golfer Brooks Koepka will find success at the Los Angeles Country Club.
The bettor has such a strong notion in the fact that Koepka will not win on the this week that they’ve put down a $27,600 with Prophet Exchange on the -1600 odds that he won’t win the tournament.
If Koepka loses, they’ll walk away with a $1,705 payout, which isn’t much but enough to make this seemingly petty bet at least worth it in theory.
If Koepka wins, then this bettor is going to be out a lot of money.
Per @ProphetExchange’s @jakebenzaq, on #USOpen betting:
“Large bet we took just now: One user bet $27,600 on Brooks Koepka NOT to win the US Open. The bet would pay $1,705 if Brooks loses.”
Price is -1600.

Look, when you have a hunch, you have a hunch.
Koepka’s +1100 odds to win the tournament are third-best in the whole field with Scottie Scheffler (+600) and 2023 Masters winner Jon Rahm (+1000) ahead of him. This bettor seems to think Koepka’s got much better chances to walk away disappointed than victorious.
With a historic purse on the table, it looks like there will be a lot on the line at the 2023 U.S. Open for both Koepka and the bettor that seems pretty confident that he’s going to lose.
