Kuwait’s Amb. Al-Banai becomes non-resident envoy to the Bahamas

New York: Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the UN headquarters in New York Ambassador Tareq Al-Banai presented his credentials to the Bahamas as the non-resident Ambassador of his country to the Island nation, said a statement late Wednesday.

A statement by the Kuwaiti mission to the UN indicated that Al-Banai presented his credentials to the Governor-General Sir Cornelius Smith during a ceremony in the capital of the Bahamas Nassau.

Al-Banai conveyed greetings from the leadership of Kuwait to the Bahamas’s Governor-General, lauding during the occasion, the strong ties between Kuwait and the Bahamas.

Al-Banai also noted that Kuwait was one of the first Arab countries to form a diplomatic relation with the Island nation, reflecting the special nature of ties.

During his visit, Ambassador Al-Banai met with top officials of the Bahamas including the Prime Minister Philip Davis and others, expressing Kuwait’s keenness on pursuing all venues of cooperation with the Bahamas.
