A HOME improvement pro has shared his tips for the popular WD-40 product.

He shared a use for the item with a practical tip for those with phobias.

Robert Alcorn (@toolswithsoalz316) showed a bottle of WD-40 in a TikTok post.

“WD-40 is not what you think it is,” he said in the video.

Robert described what the name of the product means, including the letters and numbers.

“WD, water displacement, this is the 40th attempt,” he said.

Next, the handy TikToker revealed how to use the product in a different way.

“Now, a lot of us use this as a lubricant, but it is not really a lubricant.

“It has lubricating like properties, but mainly because it just dissolves the components around it. Basically, it’s a cleaner.

“Now, it does have a very practical use for those of you that are afraid of spiders and bugs.

“What you’ll do is you’ll spray this around your windowsill or your door frame, any place where spiders or insects will get into your house.

“It’ll prevent them from entering your home,” he said of the pests. “Now, you know.”

The video drew in many viewers who shared their two cents in the comment section.

“Bug repellent is all I needed to hear,” one wrote. “Thank you.”

“What is the timeframe? Like how long does it last and when does it need to be redone?” another added.

“Reapply every two to three months,” he replied.
