Springwatch viewers devastated as Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan make on air announcement
SPRINGWATCH viewers have been left devastated as Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan made an on air announcement.
The beloved BBC Two wildlife show aired its latest episode on Thursday night.
As usual Chris and Michaela were standing by to bring viewers the latest update from Dorset.
However, they had major news to tell fans at the top of the show.
Chris told viewers: “Welcome to Springwatch 2023, it’s the final programme coming to you live from RSPB Arne Nature Reserve on the south coast of Dorset.
“We’ve had an amazing three weeks exploring this amazing nature reserve.”
The news has left die-hard fans at home devastated this will be their last fix for the year.
Writing on social media, one said: “Sad this is the last of this series of the brilliant.”
A second wrote: “How is it the final Springwatch already?!”
“Damn it’s the last one, I’m gonna miss the show,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “Can’t believe it’s the last one tonight, loved it.”
This year Springwatch has kept viewers entertained with incredible tales of nature but also some hilarious live moments.
In one episode co-host Megan McCubbin introduced viewers to two species of Tiger Beetles.
With the aide of a prop, Megan then demonstrated how the deadly creature would hunt and consume unsuspecting ants.
However, while the report was entirely innocent, viewers at home couldn’t stop laughing.
The object Megan used to illustrate how the killer beetle prays on its victims appeared to resemble a sex toy.
