Police looking for hit-and-run driver in fatal pedestrian crash in Hartford

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hartford on Friday.

Officers responded to the area of 110 Edwards St. at about 11:06 a.m. on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian and found a man lying in the road, according to the Hartford Police Department.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was identified as 49-year-old Jose Concepcion of New Britain.

According to police, the motorist involved took off from the scene driving what was described as a black Infiniti with Connecticut license plate BF54937. The vehicle has a shattered windshield and a dented hood, police said.

The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded and assumed the investigation.
