CA man who goes by ‘Suspect’ is a suspect in Aryan Brotherhood-related double murder, feds say
FRESNO — In the latest change for a racketeering indictment that continues to grow with each passing month, a California man who reportedly goes by the nickname “Suspect” has been named as a suspect in a 2022 double homicide in Los Angeles, court records show.
James Barry Field, 35, was arrested Thursday by the U.S. Marshals and booked into the Fresno County Jail, where he faces charges of racketeering and murder. He is the latest man accused of playing a role in the March 2022 double homicide of two Southern California men, crimes allegedly committed at the direction of incarcerated Aryan Brotherhood members.
Last month, Evans “Soldier” Perkins, 38, was also charged with murder in relation to the double homicide, joining Brandon “Bam Bam” Bannick, another alleged participant, and Francis “Frank” Clement, who allegedly ordered the killings from prison.
The victims of the double homicide are not named in the indictment, but the date corresponds with the killings of two men gunned down in a Los Angeles County city.
At around 10 p.m. on March 8, 2022, Ronnie Paul Ennis Jr., 47, and James Yagle, 44, were killed on the 200 block of Ridgeway Street in Pomona, authorities say. They were the only double homicide victims on that day in Los Angeles County, according to media reports. That date and location corresponds with the information in the indictment.
Field has not yet entered a plea, and is being held without bail.
The indictment charges various alleged gang members and associates with a total of six murder counts, including an October 2020 double homicide in Southern California that was similar to the March 2022 crime. A separate federal indictment targeting the Aryan Brotherhood accuses incarcerated alleged members in Sacramento with plotting nine killings, five of which were actually carried out.
