Property transactions at 1990s levels, reports The Finnish Land Survey
The Finnish Land Survey Agency (Maanmittauslaitos) has released data on property prices and sales volumes from the beginning of 2023 until the end of May. The report reveals a significant decline in both cottage and detached house transactions. Several factors contribute to the decrease in property sales during the first half of the year, including rising inflation fueled by increases in food, energy, and raw material prices, which subsequently led to interest rate hikes.
