Broward boys lacrosse first team, second team, honorable mention, coach of the year
FIRST TEAM
Dylan Faison, A, Pine Crest freshman: Finished with a team-leading 74 goals, 21 assists, and 44 ground balls for the Panthers who fell to eventual Class 1A state champion St. Andrew’s; interested in Notre Dame, UNC, UVA, Duke, and Michigan.
Jordan Faison, M, Pine Crest senior: Team captain is two-time All-American and player of the year at his school; scored 60 goals, 30 assists; 55 ground balls; Sentinel All County football selection also dropped 10 points, including 9 goals, against Benjamin early in the season; headed to Notre Dame to play both sports.
Andrew Klis, D, American Heritage senior: The long stickman and three-year captain helped lead the school to the first regional games in program history the past two years; the Dartmouth commit scored eight goals, 12 assists, 59 ground balls; switched to shorty last year to help the team.
Vincent Layne, D, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: Team captain and four-year varsity member had offers from various colleges but plans on playing club lacrosse at FSU; most proud of beating rival and three-time defending Class 1A state champion St. Andrew’s the past two years during the season; career highlight was winning the state title last year.
Jon Santana, A, Calvary Christian Academy sophomore: Team captain set school record holder for most points in a season; finished year with 73 goals, 38 assists, 58 ground balls (old record 89); led Eagles to first regional quarterfinal appearance in school history; also holds a black belt in taekwondo.
Ethan Schlam, A, University School senior: Two-time team MVP and team captain set the state record with 112 goals; added 31 assists, 119 ground balls; named All-American, All-Region, and All-District; Haverford College commit said career highlight was scoring seven goals to defeat rival Belen Jesuit; played golf at school.
Ethan Streiner, G, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: Team captain helped Raiders to state title appearance; Iona University commit made 135 saves, with 58.2 save average; had 21-save game; USA Lacrosse Magazine player of the week for South Region.
Jacob Tannenbaum, North Broward Prep junior: Two-year team captain broke four school records (points and goals in a season and career; tied goals in a gamer (10); scored 58 goals, 15 assists; said school records and first winning season “in a while” was season highlight.
Chris Testa, M, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: Team captain and all-state performer was a standout on faceoffs (71%); scored 12 goals and 9 assists; said season highlight was beating brother Nick at St. Andrew’s; had game-winning faceoff that led Raiders to state title last year.
Nigel Vital, A, Pine Crest senior: Contributed 35 goals, 16 assists, and 41 ground balls for the Panthers; most proud of playing a full year of lacrosse after patellar tendon tears in both knees; plans on attending University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and walk-on at the school.

Terry Crowley, St. Thomas Aquinas: Guided the Raiders (17-4) to a state championship appearance where they fell to top-ranked Lake Mary (24-0) in the final, 13-5. We had a lot of opportunities in the first half that we weren’t able to finish. Their goalie was exceptional.”
