Formula One championship leader Max Verstappen on Saturday drove with extreme poise and skill to put Red Bull on pole in Canadian Grand Prix after heavy rain shook up qualifying in Montreal. In an unpredictable and wild afternoon of racing at a rain-swept Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, teams rolled the dice, switching from rain tyres to slicks as track conditions changed. However Verstappen outpaced the German Nico Hulkenberg by 1.244 seconds for the front row.
