Union Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted the role of OTT platforms in bridging geographical barriers, allowing content from across the world to be accepted by a pan-world audience. Thakur questioned the need for regulation of OTT content, considering that the content is viewed by families. Thakur also noted the increasing popularity of streaming content over mainstream media such as TV, following the example of mobile phone users watching IPL matches.
