India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has announced that Uttar Pradesh's defence corridor will be used to manufacture and assemble drones, electronic warfare systems, aircraft and BrahMos missiles. Noting that India faces a double threat from its borders, Singh stated that self-reliance is a necessity. He went on to say that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is making a concerted effort to ensure the Armed Forces are not dependent on foreign equipment and weapons.
