Police destroying confiscated Easter firecrackers on Sunday

Police have warned the public in the Nicosia district to expect a series of loud explosions in the area of Analyondas until 20pm on Sunday as they destroy the thousands of firecrackers confiscated over the Easter period.

The stash will be destroyed at an army shooting rage in the area. Police said the public should not be alarmed and that all appropriate security measures were being taken.

“Hence, there is no cause for public concern,” they said.
