Dillman Parts Ways With Vanwall

0

The Floyd Vanwall Racing Team has revealed that it has parted ways with French driver Tom Dillman ahead of the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Monza next month.

The relationship between Dillman and Vanwall dates back to the 2018/19 season when it ran as ByKolles Racing Team. Vanwall says the Dillman has left the team on good terms.

“Vanwall and Tom Dillmann reached a mutual agreement to end the 2023 WEC collaboration in good terms,” says a team statement.

“We wish Tom, who supported our programme with his skills for the last 5 years all the best for the future.”

Dillman meanwhile, thanked the team and said it’s time for him to move on.

“Vanwall and I have reached a mutual agreement to end our 2023 WEC collaboration in good terms,” Dillman added.

“I wish the team all the best for the future and thank them for their trust the last 5 years!
For me it is time to move on and provocate a new chapter. Thank you all for your support.”

This news follows a DNF for the team at the Le Mans 24 Hours, a race in which it competed with Tristan Vautier as part of its driver line-up for the first time.

Vautier joined the team after the Vanwall’s relationship with 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve came to an abrupt end after the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Two-time Super GT GT300 champion João Paulo de Oliveira will replace Dillman at Monza. He will race alongside Vautier and Esteban Guerrieri.
