Avelo Airlines launches three new nonstop routes from Connecticut. Here’s where they go.
Avelo Airlines has launched three new nonstop routes from Tweed New Haven Airport, according to the airline.
The new routes from Avelo’s HVN base expands its flights to 17 nonstop destinations, according to the airline.
The destinations include: Melbourne/Cocoa Beach, Fla.; Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C.
“Avelo is the only airline in Connecticut offering nonstop service to these three new destinations, as Avelo continues to usher in a new era of affordable, convenient and reliable air service for Southern Connecticut,” the airline said in a statement.
The three routes will operate twice weekly on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, the airline said.
“Very low, one-way fares start at $49* between HVN and MLB and HVN and DAB. Fares start at $69* between HVN and GSP. Customers can make reservations at AveloAir.com,” the statement said.
Route details:
- Melbourne / Cocoa Beach, Fla. via Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB), operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB), begins June 22, and operates twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
- Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), also begins June 22, and operates twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said, also in a statement, that “It’s exciting to see the inaugural flights to these three new destinations take off this week from Tweed-New Haven Airport.”
Elicker said the flights will provide residents with “additional leisure and business travel opportunities – and, importantly, providing individuals from those cities and states with the opportunity to come to New Haven and experience all our city has to offer as well.
“Since Avelo Airlines began its first flight in November 2021, Tweed-New Haven Airport continues to grow in popularity with rising ticket sales and new destinations and is serving as an important transportation asset and jobs engine for the city and the region,” he said.
