OAKLAND — A 27-year-old Daly City man was delivering flowers Wednesday evening near the Uptown district when he got into some kind of argument with a man walking a dog and was fatally shot, authorities said Friday.
The gunman was being sought Friday.
The name of the man killed has not been released yet pending notification of family members. He worked for a flower delivery company, authorities said.
The deadly confrontation, which was caught on video surveillance in the area, happened about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of 26th Street near Telegraph Avenue.
The Daly City man was about to deliver some flowers to a resident of an apartment building when he got into a confrontation on the sidewalk with a man walking a dog, authorities said.
It has not been determined what the men argued about, but it may have had something to do with the dog, authorities said. The dog walker was seen throwing something at the man, who then threw the bouquet of flowers at him, authorities said.
The dog walker then pulled a gun and shot him, authorities said.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital where he died at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday.
Police have not released a detailed description of the suspect.
