The state crime branch's economic offences wing (EOW) has launched a probe against a gang of cyber crooks for duping several people in the country, and Odisha, of Rs 5.6 crore. The scammers posed as officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and threatened to implicate their victims in drug smuggling cases.
