BMC officials predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for Mumbai on Monday with occasional intense spells. The southwest monsoon has advanced over Mumbai and lashed the city with heavy rainfall, lightning and thunderstorms. However, BMC officials noted that the water level in Mumbai's water supplying lakes is low despite the rain in the past two days. Other states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu, have also been covered by the southwest monsoon.
