I live in a council house & made my own privacy fence – trolls say I’ve done my neighbours dirty but they have no idea
A DIY whizz has revealed how she made her own privacy fence in her council house back garden using bargains from Wickes.
The mum-of-four, who lives in Wales, shared the transformation on TikTok, and it’s left people divided.
The woman, who goes by @abitofme123 on TikTok is surrounded by stunning views of lush green grass and mountains, so many wondered why she would want to cover it up.
In the clip, she said: “Privacy screens, you have my heart.”
The savvy mum used trellis screens from Wickes which cost £22.50 each and measure just under six feet.
She started by placing the screens on top of her small fence and added larger planks of wood behind the screen to nail them in place.
The mum lined up the screens against one side of her fence to create more privacy for her kids so they can enjoy the garden.
Once the privacy screen was built, she revealed she would be staining the wood to match the rest of her garden.
But not everyone thought it was a good idea.
Some people were baffled she blocked out her stunning view while others said she had done her neighbours dirty.
The mum was quick to reveal that she didn’t have neighbours on the side she built the wall on in the comments section of the video.
One person wrote: “Looks nice, but poor neighbours having to see the back of it.”
Another commented: “Looks great but what a shame to block out that great view.”
“It’s not blocked out I can still see,” she replied.
“Why would u block out that view,” penned a third.
The mum replied: “I’d rather my kids have privacy. Also I’m surrounded by the view we live in between two mountains I see it every single day out of every window.”
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Poor neighbours.”
“Can you see any neighbours?” the mum asked.
“Absolutely love it. You’re giving me the inspiration I need. Well done & great job,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Well done looks lovely.”
